Make a referral
Patients are referred to hospice when life expectancy is approximately six months. While patients must have a doctor’s referral to enter hospice, the patient, family and friends can initiate the process by contacting a Majestic Hospice.
A referral to hospice is appropriate when:
A patient has a serious illness with a life expectancy of 6 months or less.
Comfort care and symptom management become the primary focus.
Curative treatment is no longer the patient’s choice or option.
Before providing care, our staff meets with the patient’s personal physician(s) to discuss medical history, current physical symptoms and life expectancy.
Our staff also meets with both the patient and their family to discuss any concerns and questions and review available services, pain and comfort levels, resources available and medication and equipment needs.
Majestic Hospice is able to deliver hospice care wherever the patient calls home.
